Clearance studies in live animals by metabolic cages
|
- Core will provide metabolic cages and advice to investigators free of charge
- There are a total of 16 available
- Once your order is placed Jing Zhang (Jing2.Zhang@UTsouthwestern.edu) will check the cages availability
- You'll pickup the metabolic cages on south campus in room H3.122
Metabolic cages should be would be cleaned thoroughly before returning:
- The most important parts are the collection funnel, screen floor and collection tube.
- These should be free of any attached debris or precipitates.
- For touch stains soak and or brush stains using diluted acid (e.g. HCL, <0.1M).
- Do NOT soak the metal parts in acid for very long.
- The tip of the funnel should be scrubbed sponge or paper towel.
- Rinse and brush other parts to get rid of any visible dirt.
- Then all parts should be washed in a dishwasher with detergent and air dried.
