Clearance studies in live animals by metabolic cages
Core will provide metabolic cages and advice to investigators free of charge
There are a total of 16 available
Once your order is placed Jing Zhang (Jing2.Zhang@UTsouthwestern.edu) will check the cages availability
You'll pickup the metabolic cages on south campus in room H3.122
Metabolic cages should be would be cleaned thoroughly before returning:
The most important parts are the collection funnel, screen floor and collection tube.
These should be free of any attached debris or precipitates.
For touch stains soak and or brush stains using diluted acid (e.g. HCL, <0.1M).
Do NOT soak the metal parts in acid for very long.
The tip of the funnel should be scrubbed sponge or paper towel.
Rinse and brush other parts to get rid of any visible dirt.
Then all parts should be washed in a dishwasher with detergent and air dried.
