Overview of Services

The Perot Foundation Neuroscience Translational Research Center (NTRC) facilitates and enhances quality clinical research within the O'Donnell Brain Institute. The NTRC provides clinic space, equipment, personnel, and other research support services so that principal investigators can create, develop and conduct clinical research trials with ease. Furthermore, the NTRC aims to provide patients with opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research projects in all areas of the neurosciences.
1. Core of research coordinators and research nurses to screen, consent and enroll study participants in study protocols; conduct research procedures, prepare IRB submissions and provide ongoing regulatory support for PIs conducting research at UTSW and it's affiliated hospitals, including Children's and Parkland.
2. Research support services to provide grant and contract support including budget creation and negotiations for clinical trials and grant submissions; grant identification, preparation and submission; grant and manuscript writing and administrative support and determination of proposed clinical trials financial feasibility
3. Within the Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics, the NTRC utilizes four exam rooms, has a dedicated laboratory processing space with temporary storage for study related samples including a -80 freezer and storage for dry ice.
