Overview of Services

Microbiome Research Laboratory (MRL) loacted at Biocenter of UT Southwestern Medical Center provides next generation sequencing services to basic and translational researchers who wish to use microbial metagenomics in their research activities. MRL offers variety of services for microbiome research such as 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, bacterial whole genome sequencing, shotgun metagenomics and meta-transcriptomics. Microbiome core also provide support with study design, sample processing, nucleic acid extraction and bioinformatic analysis of data. Goal of MRL is to facilitate innovative research on the microbiome in a variety of basic, translational, and clinical fields. Microbiome core is part of immunology department. Core provides sequencing services to research and clinical laboratories on UTSW campus as well as for the external acedemic and commercial institutions.
